Ok, so you probably won't need to time any "audio programs". These make great clocks and you can use them for light timers too.

The sleep timer can be set to countdown any period up to an hour. At that point the outlet shuts off.
This would allow you to fall asleep to your favorite radio program, tape recording or other source.
Maybe use it to control your vintage "Magic Fingers" bed massage?
