It is generally accepted that the highest power Marantz receiver from this era is the model 2325 at 125 watts per channel. The 2325 tops out on the test bench at around 160 watts per channel.
Although the 4300 is rated lower at 100 watts per channel, in 2 channel mode, it actually tops out on the test bench just over 175 watts per channel making it the higher power of the two.One of our favorite features of the model 4300 is the Vari-Matrix mode which allows you to create a wonderful 4-channel surround effect from any source. That includes your favorite streaming service. The Dimension control lets you adjust the depth and flavor of the effect. No need to try and source 50 year old add-on decoders or SQ/CD-4 encoded vinyl.
