Sansui BA-2000 Restoration

All electrolytic capacitors on the driver and power supply boards are replaced.

All fusistors on the driver, power supply, amplifier and meter boards are replaced.

A fusistor is a resistor that can also act as a fuse to protect associated components.
Over time they wear and increase in resistance eventually causing degradation of performance and ultimately failure.
Over the decades of working with Sansui fusistors we have never seen one perform as intended. They are replaced with standard resistors.

The four main power supply capacitors are changed from 12,000uF to new Nichicon 15,000uF.

Bias and DC offset are checked and adjusted, power meters calibrated.

The meter illumination is changed to LEDs while maintaining the classic "Sansui Bluie" color.

Full Proof of Performance is performed.
