Methodology: Separate Antenna
Fall 2006

All systems engineered and implemented by Timothy P. Whyte, CBRE.

 The existing KSFM main and auxiliary antenna systems. 6 bay main and 2 bay aux.

 

 Removal of the existing 6 bay main antenna.

 

 The new 6 bay main and 3 bay HD antennas.

 

 New elements being hoisted one at a time.

 

 Slowly, the new antenna is assembled on the tower.

 New 1 5/8" air dielectric coax for the HD antenna was installed.

 

 Weather did not always cooperate and caused several delays. There are riggers working on the antenna.

 Inside the transmitter building. The Continental transmitter at left is the KSFM aux.
In the right side equipment rack can be seen the Harris Flexstar exciter and Harris ZX-2000 HD transmitter.
HD TPO is 425 watts.
HD program is delivered by the Harris Intraplex T1 system near the bottom of the left rack.
