Luxman PD-264 direct drive turntable in excellent condition. The original dust cover shows normal wear. It has been serviced and fully tested.
Includes Signet TK1E cartridge with brand new Audio Technica stylus.The PD-264 incorporates a unique power, cueing and end lift design. The power switch, cueing mechanism and end lift trigger are all located at the end of the single control lever. That lever can be seen at the base of the tonearm mechanism as a small black knob. Turning the knob counter clockwise applies power to the direct drive motor, engages the cueing rest and sets the end of record trigger. The tonearm is completely free from mechanical interference across the entire playing surface. At the end of the record the arm touches a hair trigger mechanism which releases all of the functions initiated with the control lever. Very cool.

The turntable uses a Brushless & Slotless DC Servo Motor Direct-Drive system. Slots are completely removed to eliminate unevenness of rotation caused by electromagnetics, and further provided is a turntable platter of high inertia with which the large mass of platter weight is distributed around the outer contour, thus realizing excellent Wow & Flutter characteristics and stable rotation.
For the tonearm, a straight type is adopted to eliminate resonance caused by lack of solidity which tends to be found on the tonearm exclusively designed for high-compliance type cartridge. The root portion of the tonearm is of double pipe structure to strengthen anti-resonance measures.
