Marantz CD-400B CD-4 Disc Demodulator in ver good condition. It has been serviced and completely tested. Includes a copy of the Handbook of Instructions.

A CD-4 demodulator is required to play CD-4 encoded vinyl discs. If you own a Marantz 4 channel receiver, any model, you need this accessory to play CD-4 records. This demodulator will work with any 4 channel receiver or amplifier, and will work with any high quality phono cartridge.

Available separately is a Pioneer CD-4 calibration disc. Price: $29.95.

(Tech's Note: The calibration disc is critical for correct reproduction of the encoded vinyl. Calibration will vary by phono cartridge.)

The Marantz model CD-400B is a simple to operate demodulator for obtaining four discrete channels from CD-4 records.

The unit incorporates an automatic noise reduction circuit to minimize record noise without affecting frequency response, and an automatic 30Hz carrier level control which selects the optimum carrier level for the cartridge being used.

Non CD-4 records may also be played through the CD-400B without affecting their performance.

The controls do not have to be adjusted to play non CD-4 records; when they are played and the mode switch is in the 4 CH Auto position, the Radar indicator will illuminate and the record will automatically be demodulated into four discrete channels.
